Recognizing a Good Touch Screen Phone

Touch screen technology, developed by CERN, has found practical use among Tablet PCs and touch phones. Whilst some cell phones are still using primitive touch screen technology to make the price of touch screen phones price more affordable, others are using a very advanced form of this technology, which has come a long way since 1980.

The first application of touch screens began in railway stations and airports. The first devices were very inaccurate and could only support a few input fields. But this was enough to be used for faster e-check in or ticket purchasing.

After significant research was invested into the development of touch screens, the technology became more precise and was soon advanced enough for the creation of touch screen phones and tablet PCs.

Smart phones are the cell phones of the future. They combine regular calling and texting services with more advanced features which were previously on found on PCs, making it easier to stay in touch with people over the internet. All smart phones are touch phones, but not all touch phones are smart phones.

When choosing a good touch screen phone, it is important to make sure that the technology is advanced enough to use the touch screen fully. Some phones still use outdated technology and require the use of excessive force on the screen to enable input. This may cause the screen to get damaged quickly, not to mention how frustrating it is to not be able to input some things correctly and quickly. Other features, such as multi-touch, are also not supported on these phones.

A good example of a smartphone is a Blackberry phone, which also comes with an additional physical keyboard. They are very popular among people who do not yet trust touch screen technology completely and like to have an alternative for typing input. Once popular among businessmen, the Blackberry is now adding more entertaining features such as the BlackBerry Videos. Watching video in high resolution on a mobile phone shows how touch screens do not sacrifice resolution quality for the improved functionality of being touch screen.

All smart phones come with advanced and durable touch screens and have other features that separate them from regular phones with a touch screen. They come with an expandable OS, so it is possible to install additional applications. When connected to the internet they can browse all HTML or XML pages as well as regular mobile phone pages. These are important features to look for when buying a touch screen phone.
