The Development of Cell Phones


These days, a mobile phone is a modern necessity. No one can live without a phone. Cellular phones are an electronic device, where you can easily move from one place to another. You can easily move your phone from one network to another. Besides the usual phone call, most cellphones are moving towards other, additional services, such as SMS (short messaging service), MMS (multimedia messaging), Internet features, and GPS. Most of the mobile phones are made in such manner where you can connect to it via satellite.

The history of cell phones is quite interesting. During the Second World War, the military uses radio telephony to communicate from one station to other. The cell phone was updated in the 1940s, and in 1945 the first generation mobile phone took form. This phone was fully depending on base stations; if you left the signal area, you would lose your network signal and the call would be dropped. The first cell phone was developed by Martin Cooper in 1973. He was a general manager in the communication department. In the 1980s, the 1G generation mobile had been launched. At the end of 1990s, the cell phone craze had already spread worldwide. Today, the cell phone much smaller and comes in a much wider variety of styles and feature sets.

Now, minimalistic, slim smart phones only 10 millimeters thick are available on the market. Cell phone offer extensive music and data storage in a form easy to send or receive from other handsets. Today there are basically three types of mobile service out there. The first one is GSM service. This is a global system for mobile communication, which uses a SIM card. The SIM stores all the details of user account information. This service offers you to enter text message of up to 160 characters. The second system is TDMA service, which is time division multiplexing. It divides single channels into three sub channels. The last one called CDMA is known as code division multiple accesses. It is three times stronger than GSM service.
