BlackBerry Curve 8320 for T-Mobile

The BlackBerry Curve 8320 represents a new version of the classic BlackBerry Curve 8300 which was released in 2007. It comes in a nice, sleek design and is available in titanium gray or champagne (pale gold). Its thicker and rounder shape is perfect for those who still favor the initial T-Mobile BlackBerry shapes. The phone also has a spacious and large 35 key full QWERTY keyboard that affords users convenient typing. The outer cover has a high gloss finish with a metallic sparkle that makes it look a lot less like plastic.

However, the phone’s Wi-Fi capabilities are arguably its greatest new feature. It makes use of UMA technology that allows users to make Wi-Fi calls using the new T-Mobile’s Hotspot@Home service that allows Wi-Fi calls via VoIP accounts such as Skype. The UMA technology allows users to switch seamlessly between GSM call and VoIP calls. This provides the users with great convenience, as they do not need to maintain separate accounts for the GSM network and VoIP.

The BlackBerry Curve 8320 has excellent cellular abilities. It has great voice quality over the GSM network combined with a good noise reduction system that reduces background noise to a bare minimum. The phone is much smaller and lighter in design and thus should be ideal for people looking for smaller smart phones. It comes with predictive text input applications that make writing text messages much faster and easier, almost like the ones in the AT&T BlackBerry Torch.

The 2 megapixel camera is a great photography tool in spite of the downside that the camera is not capable of video recording. The phone can be connected to a personal computer using a USB port located on the side of the handset and then used as a webcam for a computer, aided by suitable software such as Blackberry Desktop Manager.

The handset comes with the same great set of applications that its predecessors are known for. It has a modified Zen theme that is a lot more attractive than others. The Blackberry Curve 8320 has no internal GPS, but it makes up for this by its pre installed BlackBerry Maps application which can download maps and routes over the air. For entertainment lovers, the phone’s media player is one of the best available on the market. It combines a music player that can play files of several different formats with video playback. It also has an image viewer that is comparatively fast and opens a range of file formats. The music player can shuffle music and play by artist or even by album. Options for listening to the music are a stereo 3.5mm headphone set or stereo Bluetooth headphones. All the music can be conveniently stored, as it comes with a 4GB expandable memory.
