BlackBerry Torch 9800 Black Smartphone - AT&T

Before the iPhone, the BlackBerry had a special place among its users that it even earned it the nickname ‘CrackBerry’. This popularity has however dwindled with the advent of the smartphones which run on Google’s Android operating system. Research In Motion Inc is responding to this by releasing on to the market a touch screen AT&T BlackBerry Torch 9800 Black smartphone – with new software to enhance its performance. There are a few BlackBerrys being introduced on to the market that run on the very fast 4G cellular networks.

The T-Mobile BlackBerry Torch 9800 Black smartphone – AT&T is available from key suppliers with a wide range of prices. Although BlackBerry adherents may be waiting for QNX driven devices, these phones still have features that will appeal to you. Phones with the QNX system may however not be long in coming. People who are not familiar with the BlackBerry may judge the appearance of the smartphones to being boring and being expensively priced. The phones have not departed from the usual BlackBerry aesthetic, but with a few additions and changes.

All of them have the latest RIM operating system, BlackBerry 7. Though similar to earlier versions, this new operating system offers a faster web browser, better quality graphics and voice search. Of these, the increased web surfing speed is the most conspicuous. On the downside, the newer version does not allow you to download entire articles on a single page. The browser support HTML5 for viewing heavy multimedia content, but does not support flash videos like the iPhone. The voice-activated universal search also does not deliver as much as it promises. This is supposed to be a hands free exercise, but with this new gadget you will be forced to go back to screen touching.

Compared with Google’s Android Market 250,000 apps and the 425,000 found in Apple’s App Store, the BlackBerry’s 40,000 apps are paltry and many of these are not yet available on BlackBerry 7 phones. The phones still have the standard BlackBerry features, including secure handling of email work and an updated BlackBerry messenger program. Even with fast processors, the applications take time to open. Each new BlackBerry is fitted with a new 5 megapixel camera, bright flash and many built in settings for the user to take varied shots. The cameras are able to take high definition videos. The photos taken are of good quality and the camera perform well, even in poor light.
